I have been thinking about writing a blog for sometime now.

I'd like to start my first post off on a subject that I have found seriously needs addressing.

Like a lot of other photographers I have profiles on on web sites that promote to brides asking them to sign up so they can receive quotes from different vendors. Brides sign up and their request is sent out to photographers to purchase. Some of these fees start at $2.50 per bride but some run as high as $10.00 per lead.
As the bride you sign up, write your info and wait for quotes. I get an email about your event and what ever information you supply. What puzzled me and prompted me to call a rep from one of these web sites was that the information was very incomplete. During my conversation with the rep I was told that "most brides they talk to when confirming their info do not know what they want or what to budget for a photographer". I found this to be a little surprising and decided to start this blog as a way to share with brides usable information that might make the process of selecting a photographer a little easier.

My goal is to make this a place where everyone can learn about selecting a photographer and more about what a professional photographer really does.

It is my pleasure to accept and answer questions regarding photography to the best of my ability.
